TCM Celebrates Mother’s Day with Classic Double Feature with I REMEMBER MAMA and MADAME X
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) honors mothers this Mother’s Day, May 14 with a double feature about the special bond between mothers and their children. The tribute features classic favorites any mother would love, so TCM encourages viewers to let Mother take the day off, treat her to her favorite restaurant and share in viewing the tales of two mothers and their very different relationships with their children.
TCM’s Mother’s Day Double Feature Includes:
- 8 p.m. I Remember Mama (1948) – Norwegian immigrants face the trials of family life in turn-of-the-century San Francisco. Starring Irene Dunne, Barbara Bel Geddes and Oscar Homolka. The movie also inspired the popular TV series, Mama.
- 10:30 p.m. Madame X (1937) – Gladys George stars as a murderess who is defended by the son she abandoned years earlier. Also starring John Beal and Warren William.
