Fay Wray Honors King Kong as Part of TCM’s Tribute to the Giant Monkey
Throughout the month of June, TCM will honor King Kong with a tribute featuring the voice of Fay Wray reading a "love letter" to Kong that was part of the introduction to her book, On the Other Hand: A Life Story. Wray’s voice will guide viewers through a montage of photographs and clips from the film (Tape available). The salute continues on June 25 at 8 p.m. with KING KONG (1933) airing as part of Giant Monkeys night, which will also feature MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (1949) at 10 p.m.
Additionally, a special King Kong page on TCM’s web site (turnerclassicmovies.com) will contain memories of this classic tale of the beauty and the beast starring Wray as the object of Kong’s affection, as well as information on the 1933 movie’s special effects and animation which are still unsurpassed today.
