April 8 at 8 p.m. (ET), With A Special Appearance By Neil Simon

On the eve of their latest big screen reunion, legendary funny men and Oscar® winners Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are teaming up to share stories from their extraordinary careers in the latest installment of Turner Classic Movies' (TCM) Private Screenings: Lemmon & Matthau , premiering April 8 at 8 p.m., ET. The premiere of the acclaimed interview series features network anchor and series host Robert Osborne, and a special appearance by director Neil Simon. The one-hour special is followed at 9 p.m. by the original version of THE ODD COUPLE (1968). Thirty years after the premiere of the original, Lemmon and Matthau will revive their roles in the sequel, THE ODD COUPLE II: TRAVELIN' LIGHT, scheduled for theatrical release on April 10.

TCM's premiere kicks off a special Lemmon & Matthau movie salute featuring their best films, together and apart. On April 8, following THE ODD COUPLE, are two more Lemmon and Matthau favorites: THE FORTUNE COOKIE (1966, 12 a.m.), starring Matthau in an Oscar®-winning performance as a lawyer attempting to get money for TV cameraman Lemmon after an injury; and in Billy Wilder's black comedy BUDDY, BUDDY (1981, 2:15 a.m.).

On April 11, TCM salutes Lemmon with four classics, including his Oscar®-winning role in MISTER ROBERTS (1955, 8 p.m.), as an insufferable ensign aboard a WWII cargo ship commandeered by Henry Fonda; the 1972 comedy AVANTI! (11:15 p.m.), starring Lemmon as a millionaire who falls in love with the daughter of his dead father's mistress; the 1959 comedy IT HAPPENED TO JANE (1:45 a.m.), featuring Lemmon opposite Doris Day; and the 1965 comedy HOW TO MURDER YOUR WIFE (3:30 a.m.), with Lemmon as a cartoonist devising ways to rid himself of his wife, played by Virna Lisi.

On April 12, TCM spotlights Matthau in two of his best films: 1974's THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE, TWO, THREE (8 p.m.), starring Matthau as a New York transit cop negotiating the release of hostages on a kidnapped subway train; and his film debut in THE KENTUCKIAN (1955, 10 p.m.), starring Burt Lancaster.

Private Screenings debuted in September 1995 under the title Reel Memories with a one-on-one interview with MGM musical star Jane Powell. The series features Osborne in up-close and personal interviews with major Hollywood stars, directors and producers.
