TCM sponsers the world theatrical premiere of Oscar Micheaux's recently rediscovered film "Symbol of the Unconquered"

TCM Salutes the Brothers of Big Band Swing, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, With a Weekend Movie Salute July 18 and 19

The Turner Classic Movies (TCM) cable network salutes the brothers of big band swing, trombonist Tommy and clarinetist Jimmy Dorsey, with a special weekend salute spotlighting nearly all of their films, July 18 and 19. TCM's salute also features three never-before-seen outtake songs from three of the brothers features: Lord and Lady Gate Song follows I DOOD IT! (July 18, 8 p.m. ET); Noche De Ronda follows LOST IN A HAREM (July 18, 10 p.m.); and Song of India follows THRILL OF A ROMANCE (July 19, 8 p.m.).

TCM's Big Band Dorsey Brothers Salute kicks off Saturday, July 18 spotlighting Jimmy in such films 1944's HOLLYWOOD CANTEEN (12 a.m.) starring Bette Davis and Jack Carson, and continues on Sunday (July 19) with Tommy opposite Judy Garland and Van Heflin in 1943's PRESENTING LILY MARS (10 p.m.) and Mickey Rooney and Garland in the 1943 musical GIRL CRAZY (1:45 a.m.).
