TCM to Present Original Documentary
The Making of a Legend: Gone With the Wind,
Following Film's National Theatrical Re-release
The Turner Classic Movies (TCM) cable network will airs the original documentary The Making of a Legend: Gone With the Wind (Saturday, June 27, at 5:30 p.m. (ET), the day after New Line Cinema's re-release of GONE WITH THE WIND to nearly 250 theaters nationwide.
Produced by Jeffrey and Daniel Selznick, the sons of GONE WITH THE WIND's famed producer, David O. Selznick, the documentary combines footage from the movie with rare behind-the scenes material from the Turner Entertainment Company (TEC) libraries (now part of the Time Warner libraries) and the personal Selznick family archive. The Making of a Legend: Gone With the Wind was created to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the film's 1939 premiere and now celebrates GONE WITH THE WIND's restoration and return to the big screen.
