Richard Petty was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Petty worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including"26th Annual Music City News Country Awards" (The Nashville Network, 1991-92), "43, the Petty Story" with Darren McGavin (1972) and "A Phyllis George Special" (The Nashville Network, 1993-94). He also contributed to "International Motorsports Hall of Fame" (The Nashville Network, 1991-92) and "Jim Thorpe Pro Sports Awards Presented by Footlocker" (ABC, 1992-93). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Great American Music: A Salute to Fast Cars" (1994-95), "NASCAR at 50: Good to Go" (TBS, 1997-98) and "NASCAR: 50 Years on the Fast Track Starring Brooks & Dunn" (CBS, 1997-98). He also appeared in "Racin' and Rockin': Neal McCoy and Tracy Byrd Celebrate 50 Years of NASCAR" (The Nashville Network, 1998-99).
