The Imperfect Tarzan
- Raymond Le Beau
The film, as such, wasn't an award winner. I would give it at least two stars. What it did do was give us a great guy in the form of Denny Miller. He also co-stared in the TV series "Mona McClusky" With Juliet's Prowse. For his role as Tarzan, he became a favorite at the annual Burroughs Bibliophiles conventions. The Bibliophiles are a group that honors and remembers the literary works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan.
Denny Miller also billed as Dennis, or Scott sometimes was a star basketball player in college, and went onto star in a 1959 remake of the 1932 classic Tarzan the Ape Man, the film was in color, and used footage from the original colorized, and Miller was never even refered to as Tarzan once in the film, the film made by one time Tarzan producer Sol Lesser seemed to want to bring back the image Lesser had help create of a wild man Tarzan, but the film was up against producer Sy Weintraub's Tarzan Greatest Adventure, Tarzan the Magnificent starring Gordon Scott that was more in line with the Burrough's hero of the books, and the films, and Scott were getting rave reviews, Denny went onto use the name of Scott and get a starring role on the hit tv series Wagon Train, and then use the name Denny and quest star on many TV shows, once as Tongo the Ape Man on Gilligan's island, Miller wemt onto many quest starring roles in films, TV, including playing villian to Ron Ely's heroic roles in SEAL, and Sea Hunt, Miller has always been in great physical condition, and used it in his roles, and has gone onto become a writer.
