Martin Murphy was an actor who founded his entertainment career success with roles in film. Murphy started his acting career landing roles in films, such as "Black Island" (1978), "In the Name of the Father" (1993) with Daniel Day-Lewis and the comedy "The Family" (1994) with Sean McGinley. He also appeared in the TV movie "S.O.S. Titanic" (ABC, 1979-1980). He also was featured in the miniseries "Barbara Taylor Bradford's "Remember"" (1993-94). His film career continued throughout the nineties in productions like "Braveheart" (1995) with Mel Gibson, "Frankie Starlight" (1995) and "Michael Collins" (1996) with Liam Neeson. He also landed a role in the miniseries "September" (1996-97). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Ewan McGregor dramatic adaptation "Nora" (2001), the comedy "When Brendan Met Trudy" (2001) with Peter McDonald and "Kinsey" (2004). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The Tudors" (Showtime, 2006-2010). Most recently, Murphy acted in the Sam Rockwell dramatic adaptation "Choke" (2008).
