Simon Oakland is one of those actors with such a presence, you've likely seen him and his amazing acting ability before, even if you aren't aware of it. My first introduction to this versatile actor was as an amusing informant on an episode of Get Smart, followed by the snarky and abrasive Lt. Schrank from West Side Story. Two very different roles, but merely a sample of what this man could do--from portraying horrific villains you love to hate like in certain episodes of Bonanza, or portraying lovable tough guys like Anthony Vincenzo from Kolchak: the Night Stalker. The variety of roles that Mr. Oakland played are awe-inspiring; comedy, drama, mystery... no genre was off-limits to him. It is incredibly sad that we lost such a talent decades ago, but, thankfully, his legacy will live on.

SIMON OAKLAND WAS THE GREATEST ACTOR EVER BORN NOT ONLY DID HE PERFORM FAR OUT IN WEST SIDE STORY HIS WHOLE CAREER WAS JUST AS GREAT HE WAS REALLY A CREDIT TO THE ACTING PROFESSION. HE WAS A HARD NOSE ACTOR WHOWILL BE SORELY MISSED SINCE HIS PASSING IN 1983, I AM QUITE SURE THAT HE WAS COMMERATED FOR ALL HIS PERFORMANCES WHAT EVER THEY WERE, HE WAS RECOGNIZED FOR ALL HIS ACCOMPLIMENTS IN HIS ACTING CAREER. WEST SIDE STORY WAS THE ICING ON HIS CAKE, HIS PERFORMANCE WAS TOTALLY AWESOME.
