Frank Richards was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Richards's earliest roles were in film, including the horror feature "Before I Hang" (1940) with Boris Karloff, "Cairo" (1942) and "The Cowboy and the Indians" (1949). He also appeared in the western "South of Caliente" (1951) with Roy Rogers, the Spencer Tracy sports comedy "Pat and Mike" (1952) and the Charlton Heston western "The Savage" (1952). His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like "Tennessee Champ" (1954), "Destry" (1954) with Audie Murphy and "Gang-Busters" (1955). He also appeared in the crime flick "A Bullet For Joey" (1955) with Edward G Robinson. Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in the Harry Lauter crime feature "Cry Baby Killer" (1958), the dramatic adaptation "Lonelyhearts" (1958) with Montgomery Clift and the Peter Falk drama "A Woman Under the Influence" (1991). Richards was most recently credited in the Mike Myers blockbuster animated adventure "Shrek" (2001). Richards passed away in April 1992 at the age of 83.
