Herbert Von Karajan worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. In 1967, he founded the Salzberg Easter Festival. In 1934, he was appointed general music director of Aachen, Germany. In 1929, he made his conducting debut with Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro." Karajan worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Carmen" (1970), "Herbert Von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra" (PBS, 1974-75) and "La Boheme" (1965). He also contributed to "Ludwig - Requiem Fur einen jungfraulichen Konig" (1972) starring Harry Baer, "Pagliacci" (PBS, 1974-75) and "The Pedestrian" with Gustav Rudolf Sellner (1974). In the eighties, Karajan devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson (1980), "The Four Seasons" (1981) starring Alan Alda and "Frances" (1982). He also worked on "Captive" (1987) starring Irina Brook. Karajan was most recently credited in the drama "The Tree of Life" (2011) with Brad Pitt. Karajan passed away in July 1989 at the age of 81.
