Best known as ‘Commando Cody’ in Republic Pictures’ serial “Radar Man From The Moon,” he worked in the coal mines of West Virginia through his teens and joined the Navy in 1936 - he became the Pacific Fleet’s light heavyweight boxing champion. He served four years in WWII and later worked as a bartender in Hollywood where he would sing along with the jukebox. Wallace died from complications of a fall he’d taken while vacationing in Italy.
