Hugh Burden was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Burden's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "One of Our Aircraft Is Missing" (1942) with Godfrey Tearle, "Fame Is the Spur" (1947) and "Malta Story" (1953) with Alec Guinness. He also appeared in the Peter Finch dramatic adaptation "No Love For Johnnie" (1961). His film career continued throughout the sixties and the seventies in productions like the Michael Caine action movie "Funeral in Berlin" (1966), "The Best House in London" (1969) and the David Niven comedy "The Statue" (1970). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in the Andrew Keir horror film "Blood From the Mummy's Tomb" (1971), the Peter O'Toole comedy adaptation "The Ruling Class" (1972) and the comedy "One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing" (1975) with Helen Hayes. Burden last appeared in "Doctor Fischer of Geneva" (PBS, 1985-86). Burden passed away in May 1985 at the age of 72.
