Married to actress Jimsy Maye and father of Breezy Eason, he was credited with working on over 200 films and was one of the most respected serial directors of his era. He was also known for his inhumane treatment of animal actors. In 1936 while filming The Charge of the Light Brigade, over 25 horses died as a result of running wire trips and other set-ups. Errol Flynn went public with the story and the Humane Association and Hays office got involved and treatment of animals was closely watched and corrected.
