Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

This writer-director-producer got his start in the entertainment industry directing educational and industrial films in New York. Glickenhaus made his feature film debut with "The Astrologer" (1978) and received greater attention, if not acclaim, for his second film, the Vietnam veteran vigilante melodrama "The Exterminator" (1980). Among his other genre fare are the violent "The Soldier" (1982), with Ken Wahl, "The Protector" (1985), with Jackie Chan and Danny Aiello, the cop drama "Shakedown" (1988) and "McBain" (1991). Glickenhaus moved into feature production as executive producer of "Maniac Cop" (1988) and has since overseen such low-budget, direct-to-video films as "Frankenhooker" (1990) and "Tough and Deadly" (1995). Glickenhaus has a secondary career as a limited partner in the Wall Street firm of Glickenhaus and Company and from 1987 to 1995 served as chairman of SGE Entertainment.
