Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Character actor E.E. Bell has enjoyed a lengthy, diverse career that has entailed everything from television sitcoms to action movies, soap operas to teen comedies. His career began during the early '80s with a series called "Herndon," notable for only two reasons: first, it co-starred Ted McGinley, whom Bell would later appear with on "Married with Children"; and second, it paved the way for appearances on higher-profile sitcoms such as "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Cheers." In 1991, he graduated to movies with the comedy "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" starring Christina Applegate, another future co-worker on "Married with Children." Bell worked steadily throughout the '90s, and although the results were mostly forgettable, he did leave quite the impression as an angry basketball fan in "Forget Paris," Billy Crystal's '95 romantic-comedy. And of course, he appeared in nearly two dozen episodes of the sitcom "Married with Children" as Bob Rooney, the pudgy sidekick and old high school buddy of lead character Al Bundy. After closing out the decade with a small, but important role in the '97 Harrison Ford thriller "Air Force One," in 2000 he had a recurring part as Barney, a security guard, in the...

During the ensuing decade, Bell guest-starred in popular series ranging from "The West Wing" to "Without a Trace" and "How I Met Your Mother," and also logged quite a few credits in soaps such as "The Bold and the Beautiful."
