Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

In a career spanning over 50 years, actor Eddie Jones has appeared frequently in both stage and screen productions, perhaps best known as Clark Kent's father on the popular series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." Jones first hitchhiked to Los Angeles after winning big in a poker game, with plans to attend school to study electrical engineering. After a stint in the army, he resumed acting and moved to New York City where he landed his first television role on the daytime soap "Young Doctor Malone" in 1959. Though that job ended abruptly when he turned on the TV to see someone else playing his part, Jones persisted, going on to perform in over 250 stage plays and such feature films as the neo-noir featuring John Cusack, "The Grifters" and the Steven Spielberg drama starring Tom Hanks as a foreigner stranded in an airport, "The Terminal." In addition to guest spots on such hit series as "Cheers" and "Touched by an Angel," he landed a regular role as the father of a superhero on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of...
