Brief Synopsis

A rookie soldier, Charlie Sheen, struggles under the unbearable conditions of a horrible war: bugs, drugs, death, jungle rot, and hopelessness. But as he observes the differing style and attitudes of two of his commanders, a violent Sergeant played by Tom Berenger and a more Zen-like William Dafeo, he comes to see the deeper conflict within the war: one of conscience.
