Mary Murdock, a country girl who has achieved success as a Broadway entertainer, gets a day off to revisit the scenes of her childhood. Tom Loring, her former sweetheart, renews his attempts to win her, and John Stone, the club manager, allows her to break her contract and return to the country to marry Loring. Loring goes to town to market an invention, and a storm virtually demolishes the farm and most of the stock. Mary tells Stone of the misfortune when he arrives on her birthday, and he agrees to hire her for a short time at the cabaret. Mary is grateful for Stone's help, but Loring suspects an affair and goes to New York to vindicate his honor; indignant at his behavior, Mary decides to stay on Broadway. Stone tries to reconcile the couple, but Mary finds the manager is the worthier man.
