Very likely the best of the Warner Oland Chan movies. One of my favorite lines is when the stage manager, frustrated by everything that is going on effecting the flow of things backstage, he steps up and declares. "I'm stage manager here and this opera's going on tonight even if Frankenstein walks in." A little tongue in cheek statement from the writers since the guest star in the movie was Frankenstein himself Boris Karloff.Often wondered if Karloff did his own singing in the movie or if it was dubbed with the voice of someone else.

I enjoy watching these old Charlie Chan movies. I grew up watching them on channel 9 on Sundays. Could there be a marathon of these classic movies. I don't know how many there are. They should be shown on a Saturday or Sunday. Thanks

Charlie Chan at the Opera is certainly on of the best in the film series, Warner Oland is terrific. It's short and sweet, funny and thoroughly entertaining. Great supporting cast.
