As far as I have heard, all VHS copies of this movie that are available for purchase come from a single print of the film that has been copied who knows how many times. I bought a copy from an online company so obscure I didn't know if I was dealing with Nigerian Bankers and only because the book is so delightful I had to see the movie. The book is filled with ribald humor and that could not be filmed at the time, this is a movie that screams for a re-make that adds back the love ( lust ) scenes between the main actors and modern special effects would be welcome in the transformation scenes. This really needs to be transferred to DVD and made available.

I wonder why this film is not available on DVD, I know by going to the UCLA film site it has been restored and available to certain groups. It is a movie from a Thorne Smith novel. He wrote the Topper books. It is a story of statues being brought to life and a mad cap romp showing a bit of life in that era. I remember seeing the movie, I was about 10 years old, being in the depression, we were as poor as everyone else. We were given tickets by the relief agency and the very first movie I ever saw. it started me going to movies, if I could get 10 cents. By the way the movie we went to would have cost my Dad 25 cents each for him and my mother and 10 cents each for my sister and me. A lot of money in those days. This movie was important enough for UCLA to restore, the public should be able to watch or own it!
