  • What A Find!

Watched yesterday, between Bogart big films,The Falcoln and Big Sleep, and was quite impressed.Watched it for Patric Knowles, very underappreciated during his career,IMHO,and he's terrific here,as is Sheridan, convincing as his nurse girlfriend, and loved Chas Trowbridge, even in the ending.Definitely deserves to be shown more.

This short film is based on an old Mignon Eberhart mystery novel. The lead character - a detective - played by a young and always handsome Patric Knowles - is a patient in a hospital where his girlfriend - the head nurse - played by a young and ever-sassy Ann Sheridan - happens to work. Another patient - a wealthy benefactor to the hospital - is murdered. The sleuth and the nurse team up to help solve the crime even though they squabble a lot during the process. This movie is as much comedy as it is mystery as it works its way through the various suspects and arguments with the police to a conclusion. This film is available on 3 Disk DVD set entitled Warner Bros Horror\Mystery Double Features.
