There's gold in this movie
- Barnaby Beck
This is one of my favorite movies and the chemistry between the two lead characters is truly amazing.Judy Holliday is perfect for this movie and I love the fact that she grows through this experience. I know in such a male dominated time to see a strong women was both brave and ahead of its time. This is a movie that still has legs and is as relevant today as Shen it was made
Judy Holliday is just a joy and it's such a shame there aren't dozens of films with her starring in them! This one was made for her character and she shines. Paul Douglas is the perfect foil for her here and their union is simply terrific. The one thing I kept thinking throughout this film is how appropriate it is for today. We certainly need more Laura Partridge types in our big banks and corporations right now! I do wonder just how many small shareholders (they number in the millions, by the way!) would give their proxies to a Laura Partridge to have us all truly represented and able to throw a whole bunch of these thieves out! I love this film and I love Judy Holliday in it!

This movie is very funny. I thought the chemistry between Judy Holliday and Paul Douglas was outstanding in this movie. They appeared to be having a great time working together.
Solid Gold Judy
- Jarrod McDonald
I truly enjoy all of Judy Holliday's film performances. But I think this one is probably my favorite, because she takes such simple straightforward material (a woman asserting herself in a male-dominated corporate culture) and finds laughs in it where other actresses would fail. The result is a charming, highly amusing situation comedy that goes the distance. The only suggestion I would make to improve it would be the casting of the male lead. As much as I like Paul Douglas, he's not sexy enough for this role. And I think Judy should've been reteamed with William Holden. It would probably be more well known today and revered as much as BORN YESTERDAY.
The Solid Gold Cadillac

This movie is so comical there are no dull moments in it, Judy Holiday is so captivating as she evolves into a feminine tycoon!

I never miss a movie that she is in and this is one of the best.

This is SUCH an enjoyable movie! I loved it so much, I just bought myself a copy! I absolutely adore Judy Holliday! It's just so sad that she died at such an early age. The movies that she made are classics no doubt, but she could have gone on to do so much more. Oh dear, and Paul Douglas! Everytime I see him in a movie, I melt! He is just the cutest thing! And he is in so many of my favorites: This Could Be The Night, Clash By Night, and Executive Suite (may I ask why this isn't on DVD???). I urge everyone to see this movie. It's wonderful!
